PURE MAGIC

The Lodge at Horseleg Hill definitely possesses some magic, evident even before setting foot inside the house. On the outside, a carefully conceived architectural vernacular featuring a wonderful mix of contemporary design with rustic elegance.

On the Inside, a house which radiates warmth and is set up to facilitate fun human interaction with a breathtaking Great Room, appropriate for lounging in front of a huge fire place, sitting at the bar top in the kitchen, or enjoying a family meal at the wonderful family dining table. You don’t need to be a design professional to appreciate the thought and attention that went into the selection of every detail in the house. Everything. From the light fixtures, to bathroom hardware, to the copper sinks, to the sofas, to the ultra comfortable bedding. As no consideration has been overlooked; guests are free to relax, unwind and fully immerse themselves in their stay. And while the house is immaculate and beautiful, and in possession of a wonderful energy, there is zero pretention or gaudiness; just comfort and convenience.

We had such a wonderful stay. We took advantage of the chef’s kitchen and prepared some wonderful family meals; and followed that up with some cinematic fun in the home theater. The theater is incredible! As is the play-room, a secondary living room in the basement. And if the finishes and fixtures in the house weren’t enough to draw your admiration, the house features a wonderful and unique private collection of rock n’ roll photography that will leave any rock n’ roll fan or music historian truly impressed. Every room features this amazing photography; test yourself and see how many of the stars you can name without peaking at the byline.

The only negative to our stay at Horseleg Hill Lodge is that it was really hard to leave. And I’d be surprised if the thought “I wish this was my house” didn’t pass through your mind once or twice as it certainly did mine. Kudos to the Morra Family – this house is truly special and provides anything and everything anyone could want as part of a fun getaway. Horseleg Hill Lodge is hands down, the most exceptional place to stay in the White Mountains!!

Far Beyond What We Imagined. Incredible Home!

Words cannot describe this home. Even the photos don’t do it justice. It’s far more stunning in person and the host Paul is very kind, thoughtful and attentive. You can tell this home was built with love and attention to every detail. There are so many nice touches from the heated floors to the remote controlled candles, the spectacular game room and movie theatre to the breathtaking architectural elements, particularly all of the natural wood, thoughtful art and decor, super comfy oversized couch, top notch appliances and sumptuous beds. Everything was impeccably clean too which matters a lot to us. It also had everything we needed from clean, bright, white towels to pots and pans and firewood. We spent the entire trip saying over and over how amazing the house was (and we didn’t want to go). But more than that it was quiet, nice and toasty (we were there in the winter so this was a good thing!) and peaceful with plenty of room for everyone to find a corner to read, relax or work. The homeowners created an experience where you truly felt very connected with nature because of all the earthly finishes. Though it was also great to have all the modern amenities included too such as WiFi and showers you didn’t want to leave 🙂 We had a tremendous vacation and loved signing the guest book at the end which is in a beautiful welcome basket. It’s truly one the best vacation homes we’ve ever experienced with a fantastic host! We hope to be back soon especially as it’s situated in a great area for so many family activities.

An Incredible Place To Stay

We stayed at Horseleg Hill as part of our family holiday in New England and had a fantastic time. It is an amazing house and definitely one of the coolest properties any of us have ever stayed in anywhere in the world. The design of, and attention to detail in, the house are spectacular with every need catered for in some style. We spent the days on and around Purity Lake; access to the resort and activities could not be easier and we had a great time swimming, paddle boarding, water-skiing, kayaking etc. The great room was then the perfect setting for big family dinners which were followed by time spent around the firepits under the stars and surrounded by the beautiful forest. Add in the games room, the cinema and the amazing entertainment systems; music throughout the indoor and outdoor areas of the house, and it was impossible not to have a good time and thoroughly enjoy your surroundings. Thanks to Paul for being an extremely attentive and friendly host. Horseleg Hill really is a special place and we all very much hope to come back one day.

A Beautiful Home Near A Beautiful Lake

My family and I spent a week in this beautiful lodge near Purity Spring Resort and we shared a wonderful experience together. We enjoyed the lake… swimming and the use of kayaks, canoes and paddle boards and enjoyed the other amenities available to the resort. We enjoyed a few nights sitting around the outdoor firepit which made our stay even more magical at this special home. The owner, Paul was also very supportive and assisted us when we set off the house fire alarm. We thank him for his patience. All in all we had a great experience and we want to thank Paul and his family for sharing with us their beautiful home.

OUR NEW FAVORITE VACATION SPOT!

Having stayed in a lot of vacation homes throughout Europe and the US in the past, this has been our family’s favorite. The house was thoughtfully designed and has everything you could ask for (and more!). The Morra family has done an amazing job in incorporating local history in the modern design and the result is really delightful, especially for fans of (vintage) wood as a building material. Our kids had particular fun playing daily air hockey tournaments in the game room. And the home movie theatre was certainly great entertainment on a rainy day. The collaboration with Purity Spring Resort is awesome – we very much enjoyed using the canoes, kayaks and paddle-boards provided for the guests on the very clean Purity Lake. And Thursday night’s lobster bake by the lake was a great opportunity to participate in a truly New England family tradition (not to forget the s’mores at the campfire afterwards – always a special treat for European kids). Paul was a great host, always accessible and ready to supply helpful information. We would love to go back for another vacation in the future.

AMAZING PROPERTY!

We have stayed in many properties in the past years and this by far was my family’s favorite. It had just the right furnishings and finishings to make this home perfect. Great layout, great host! 5 stars!!

AMAZING HOUSE & PROPERTY

We had a great stay at the Horseleg Hill Lodge. The house had everything it promised and more! Combining the luxury design of the house with the activities and scenery of Purity Lake/Purity Spring Resort made for an unforgettable vacation for our family and friends. Every detail of the house (gourmet kitchen, great room, entertainment system, movie theater, fire pit outside, photography, etc, etc) is so well executed that we were constantly discovering cool things throughout the stay. The owner was incredibly responsive and his suggestions for activities around the area were spot on. We hope to be back soon.

A Great 50th Anniversary Celebration!

In August 2017, three generations of our family celebrated our 50th anniversary at Horseleg Hill Lodge. It was a wonderful time for all. The lodge is fabricated from reclaimed antique wood, indigenous wood to the property and modern amenities. The three bedrooms and separate 4-person bunk beds allow freedom, privacy and provided much personality. The 10-person table brings everyone back together at meal times. The master bedroom suite makes you feel like a Hollywood millionaire. The atmosphere encouraged family togetherness with endless games of Monopoly, jigsaw puzzles and Jenga.

Everyone chipped in to enjoy preparing meals – breakfast turned into a gourmet treat. The music piped throughout the lodge was wonderful. Everyone was enthralled with the theater room and a chance to watch movies on an immense screen in reclining chairs. What a treat that was. We watched a movie nearly every evening — some even hoped for a rainy day for a movie marathon; but luckily, we enjoyed a beautiful week of weather. Our sons were very jealous of the sound system and home theater system.

While the lodge itself is beautiful and accommodating, the location is superb. Just a very short walk down the road is the Purity Spring Resort. We were there at least two times each day to enjoy the lake, the inflated floating “iceberg”, canoes, biking/hiking trails, pool and hot tub. There was simply not enough time to enjoy all the available activities. We did force ourselves to be tourists and saw the Flume, Diana’s Bath, Cranmore Mountain Aerial Adventure, a fun family game of miniature golf and dinners in North Conway. But the allure of the lodge and lake, and our fun cooking was so strong that no one wanted to leave to do anymore in the area.

We really needed two weeks to enjoy it all! And to make our stay perfect, the manager and owner were so helpful whenever we needed anything.

Like staying at a (great) friend’s house!

We had a wonderful time visiting Horseleg Hill. Paul and his family are wonderful hosts. The house is spectacular in every way- it is beautiful, clean and has every amenity you could ask for. Our children (ages 3-9) thought it was the greatest house of all time, thanks to the home theatre and air hockey table. Paul was extremely helpful and accommodating regarding any questions and concerns we had. His accessibility was really surprising in the most wonderful way. It truly felt like we were staying at a friend’s home, and we hope to go back again someday!

Exceptional Property

My stay at Horseleg Hill was exceptional. Not only is the property gorgeous, it was well maintained and the owners were attentive and left us wanting for nothing. All the amenities provided were top quality and everything was provided for the weekend. The owners were in contact through the process and checked-in to make sure my expectations were being met. They even allowed us to check out later. I would recommend this property for anyone looking for a luxurious relaxing retreat or for those looking to enjoy the outdoors. I hope to return! Thanks to the Morra family for sharing your beautiful home.

Amazing Retreat

This house lives up to every expectation that we had based on viewing it online. We were lucky enough to experience a blizzard during our stay and took our three kids to enjoy King Pine and Cranmore Mountains for some skiing. My kids didn’t want to leave the house at times because they had so much fun with the air hockey table, movie theatre and other games provided in the home. The owner was available for absolutely anything and a pleasure to be in touch with over any questions. Truly an amazing home, we will definitely be back!

What A Nice Experience!!!

We had an absolute fantastic weekend in the lodge. We had high expectations for the lodge itself and they were all more than fulfilled. Also the area around it – we tried snow shoes and the kids all went skiing – is recommendable. All communication with Paul (the owner) was very nice and he was very helpful throughout the booking process. We hope to be able to come back again some day and then we would definitely stay longer! Thanks to Paul and his family for sharing their beautiful home with us!

Perfect Long Weekend Getaway

All around incredible experience. The house itself was a perfect layout for our stay giving people a chance to have space while also having great areas for entertainment and fun. The location was also very convenient to King Pine and Cranmore and everything those ski areas have to offer to a family. In addition, Paul, the owner, was fantastic and incredibly accommodating, helpful and responsive. He really made us feel welcome and ensured we had a great stay. We’ll certainly look to return for another visit.

Beautiful, well-equipped, comfortable lodge

We booked this home for a long weekend as a large group of 7 adults and 3 kids under 4 years old for a reunion of sorts. From the outset, the owner, Paul was extremely helpful and responsive to deal with and, while the application process is detailed, it pays off on arrival as the house was perfectly set up for our visit (great music playlist running when we walked in, etc.). While the house entirely lives up to the pictures online (and, in some ways, outdoes those photos), there were many more personal touches that made our stay all that more enjoyable, from the pristine appearance of the house on arrival, being able to arrange with Paul for a housekeeper to come by a couple of the mornings that we were there and being able to reach out to a local property manager when we inadvertently set off the fire alarm and couldn’t figure out how to stop it. The resort itself is homey, relaxed, laid-back and perfectly in-keeping with its setting. The lake was ideal for the kids to paddle about in and for the adults to hop in a kayak with the slightly older one for a paddle. Everything was easily-accessed; nothing was a hassle. Both the Friday night Lobster cook-out and the Monday morning breakfast picnic by the lake were highlights. The rooms and beds all received rave reviews, the kitchen, outdoor grill and dining area all set up perfectly for catering to our large group (we cooked complete meals each night without trouble, which is no mean feat in a house you don’t know and cannot always be guaranteed of finding the right kitchen accessories). We were sorely disappointed not to have had the chance to use the movie theater – next time perhaps. All in all, I can’t recommend this property, and its owner, highly enough: outstanding location, accommodations and customer service.

Wonderful Experience

My best friend and I had a great 4 days of time off away from responsibilities, technology and meetings. We enjoyed the space that was created by the Morra family, with so much style and elegance, in a clean manner, that was easy, peaceful, beautiful, convenient and resourceful to say the least, and with a great sound system to listen to favorite tunes via AirPlay. We were ready to come back to the noisy world feeling refreshed, but we were also able and willing to stay longer. This is how great it was that we could have done it either way. But most of all, most importantly, what we enjoyed, what I particularly enjoyed is the public relations aspect, the customer care and support and the attention to details and the human communication. Nowadays, we do not get fast replies, or voice on the other end, or proper attention with patience, or even a kind voice on the other end. For us, this venture was the first time we were introduced to the resort, and for the owners it is a repetitive task but it felt like we were the first ones they were dealing with and they handled it professionally, respectfully and attentively. This is a skill and an art. I enjoyed the easy nature of communication and easy access to the owners, and the number of honest mistakes that we made only to be visited back with patient explanation or fair and polite acceptance on their part and mental relief on ours. That was heart touching. They have offered us more than their property. They also offered us their home and I felt I was at my distant relatives home, totally at home. Thank you for giving us this chance and I am glad to have made contact with you, and hope to meet you all someday, when time and drama permits. For now, I am light, rested, charged and ready to face the world on my recharged terms, thanks for this serene opportunity.

THOROUGHLY ENJOYED OUR VISIT TO HORSELEG HILL

The Horseleg Hill house is beautiful, and the location was ideal for our late August visit to New Hampshire. We enjoyed the resort’s amenities, took scenic bike rides every day, and did a few short day trips to Wolfeboro and other spots. The house is luxurious but appropriately rustic at the same time, with plenty of space for everyone, and a great kitchen to prepare meals. The owners are very responsive, and obviously take a lot of justifiable pride in the house. We highly recommend Horseleg Hill to those seeking a quiet, very comfortable vacation house in New Hampshire.

Exquisite Woodland Retreat!

The owners were friendly and welcoming, and had our favorite music playing as we entered the gorgeous property! The architecture and design of the lodge was perfectly accented by reclaimed wood walls and a beautiful fireplace in the center of the great room. Original photos of musical icons like Joni Mitchell and James Taylor gave the upscale lodge a down-to-earth and relaxing feel, even though the baths were more like personal spas. We left feeling like we had spent the weekend in a luxurious woodland retreat and look forward to returning again and again! Thanks to the owners for sharing their beautiful home.

An Amazing Property with Luxury Furnishings. You Won’t Want to Leave!

Horseleg Hill is an amazing house that you won’t want to leave. Every detail was just beautiful and perfectly planned out in this home. It was a treat to be able to stay in such an amazing place with amenities galore. The movie theater room, gourmet kitchen, beautiful master suite and bath were all decorated just beautifully. The staff at Purity Spring Resort were very friendly. We enjoyed using some of the facilities but really didn’t want to leave the house! I would highly recommend this property to anyone who is looking to enjoy the outdoors and relax in luxury. We all agreed it was a fantastic place for our annual girls weekend. The owner was so accommodating and easy to work with. We had a terrific weekend with lots of laughs. A much needed retreat for all.

The Most Memorable Property

Horseleg Hill Lodge, the most incredible place to go and relax and be part of nature. This home is one of a kind with unique qualities. Huge movie theatre, outdoor fire pit, a fantastic kitchen and great room layout and beautiful furnishings. Spacious bedrooms and luxurious. Purity Spring Resort and King Pine just around the corner and offers skiing, hiking, water activities, restaurant and swimming. A real piece of paradise in New England. An outstanding property and highly recommended.

Relax and Renew in Luxury

Serving in the military for 25+ years, you adopt the motto “Home is where the Navy sends you!” which is very true but Mount Washington Valley will always be my first home and Horseleg Hill Lodge allowed me to come back and gather with much of my family who still lives there for a luxurious weekend to celebrate family and Easter. Purity Spring Resort and King Pine Ski Area holds a special place in my heart as a little girl learning to ski.  This house captures the essence of a cabin in the woods with every luxury imaginable. This house is great for families of all ages, a great couples or friends retreat and the area has year round activities for everyone! You can totally unplug and sit by the fire, hike in the woods, ski, swim in the lake… but for those who have a hard time doing that, the house has technology to keep you connected, listening to your favorite music, playing the latest video games or watching movies in the large theater.  A weekend was not enough time and we’ll definitely be back!

Wonderful Stay!

We had such a great time at Horseleg Hill Lodge! The house is beautiful and very accommodating. I took my family of four there for a week during spring break in March and although we didn’t get any snow, there were still tons of things to do in the area. Hiking trails right outside your door, beautiful lakes and waterfalls all within a short drive. We looked forward to coming back to this beautiful home every evening, spending time watching movies in an unbelievable theater room and challenging my son every night to a game of air hockey! Paul, the owner was very responsive to all of my inquiries and very hospitable, checking on us throughout the week to make sure our stay was great! We hope to visit the White Mountains again and if we do we would definitely stay at Horseleg Hill! Highly recommend!

Luxury experience exceeding expectations, You won’t want to leave!

A great two family getaway for skiing, tubing and luxury accommodations without the crowds. This home won’t make you miss yours, as a matter of fact, you’ll wish it was yours. All the amenities and more for luxury and beyond. The theater room was a fun place for family gathering/entertainment after a day of outdoor fun. Can’t wait to return only next time, it will be for more time.

Stunning Home in New Hampshire

My family of four rented Horseleg Hill Lodge for a ski weekend with another family during the last weekend of February. Wow! This home is straight out of a magazine! Nothing is missing from this amazing home. Beds are comfortable, kitchen is stocked with anything you could possibly need, and there was plenty of space for 8 people. The kids loved the game room, bunk room and really enjoyed their movie in the projection room! Great access to King Pine and an easy drive to North Conway for restaurants, shopping, and additional skiing. Paul made the rental process incredibly easy, even with our last minute rental. He answered all of our questions, was always available if we needed anything and left nothing to chance, including setting the temperature to our preference and having the home sound system set with our favorites. We’ll definitely be back!

Fantastic House. Great Family Fun

Our family and family friends had an amazing stay at Horseleg Hill Lodge. The property is situated on a beautiful mountain backdrop. The kids had a blast snowshoeing on the trails while we learned to cross country ski. We quickly became spoiled by how close King Pine Ski Area is; rentals are cheap, the mountain and staff are super nice, and there were hardly any lift lines …on a holiday weekend! And when it was the coldest day on record, we enjoyed the indoor pool at the Purity Spring Resort (just 2 minutes away) and the home’s amazing home theater. The home is stunning with every detail carefully thought out. This was our best VRBO experience ever! When we left, the kids (ages 5-12) asked “when can we go back?”

The Perfect Setting

Our extended family – daughters, son-in-law, two grandchildren – were looking for a place to relax and unwind. Our goal was to get our older granddaughter up on skis for the first time, and we succeeded. We recently stayed at Horseleg Hill Lodge for a week. The Lodge’s very close proximity to the King Pine Ski Resort made it very easy to get to the mountain, even on days when it snowed. King Pine is a place where the whole family can ski and having 28 kilometers of groomed x-country/ snowshoeing trails just outside the doorstep of the home is quite an additional attraction.

My wife and daughters really liked the use of wood from an old barn in the home, a blend of modern conveniences with a rustic look. Everything was spotless. It was very relaxing spending time together in the Great Room around the fireplace, and the ability to play music throughout the house was amazing. We particularly liked the way the house was laid out. The game room with the air hockey table and the home entertainment center downstairs meant that the children with supervision, could be having fun, while the other adults were preparing the evening meals upstairs. There was space for everybody! Watching movies on the 150 inch screen with reclining seats was like having a movie theatre in your own home.

Our family had a lot of fun being together. We were in a gorgeous home with all the amenities, close to an area that is special to us, but also, the property is set back from the street and is its own private oasis. Horseleg Hill Lodge is located in a setting that is beautiful in the summer, fall, or winter. We appreciated Paul, the owner, answering all our questions and being very accommodating about everything. We look forward to coming back again!

Incredible Inside and Out!

We went as two families for Thanksgiving Weekend and we could not have had a more wonderful time. This was my second visit to Horseleg Hill Lodge and I could not wait to show it off to my friends. One friend who is an Architect was mesmerized by the incredible detail to construction and all the beauty of the home brought into perfect harmony with its wooded surroundings. The kids LOVED the movie theatre so much it was hard to get them out of there, but we managed to bring them up to the stunning living area where we made a cozy fire and had plenty of space to play lots of family games. My girlfriend and I cooked one of our best Thanksgiving dinners ever in the fantastic kitchen which had everything we needed to prepare a gourmet feast. So glad the Morra family loves to entertain and included such a large dining table into the home so that we could all enjoy dining together. The kids also went swimming every day at the Resort pool… what a nice amenity to have! Everyone went hiking together and we can’t wait to come back during ski season…… who can resist when the trails are right out your front door. Thanks again to the Morra Family for allowing us to enjoy their beautiful home, making for a beautiful holiday we will never forget.

Incredible home in an incredible setting!

Our family contacted Paul as we were seeking a home to fill the needs of family and guests for a very special weekend. Our son, and his beautiful fiance, were getting married at Hobbs in West Ossipee and we felt that Horseleg Hill Lodge would be an ideal setting. Per Paul’s recommendation, the evening before the wedding our extended family of sixteen dined at the Traditions Restaurant at Purity Springs Resort. The food and service there were excellent. Following the ceremony Saturday afternoon, we invited some close friends and co-workers of the newlyweds along with family members to join us at Horseleg Hill Lodge for food, drink and conversation. All were in awe of this beautiful home. The setting was even more enhanced by New Hampshire’s peak Fall Foliage. The home, surroundings and decor were absolutely perfect! Horseleg Hill provided a wonderful environment to continue the post wedding celebration. The bride wrote in the guest log – “the memories we have from here will last us the rest of our lives. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts”. The newlyweds wish to return to Horseleg Hill for their future anniversaries. The rest of our family would welcome a return to this incredible property for future family gatherings as well. Due to the hectic wedding schedule we were unable to enjoy the amenities offered by Purity Spring Resort. We plan to take advantage of the resort during our next stay at Horseleg Hill. With our sincere thanks to the Morra family for wonderful memories of a Very Special Day!

Incredible and Luxurious Retreat

Our family of seven had the pleasure to stay in this remarkable home. This property was the nicest house we have ever rented, and the best overall rental experience we have encountered. Paul is not only responsive, but genuinely concerned that his guests are enjoying his home and not experiencing any trouble. We arrived late Friday night for a long weekend stay, and were greeted with lights, perfect temperature, and background music! There is so much to do in and around the home! We used the beautiful back yard, started campfires and made s’mores at night, enjoyed the 150 inch home theater, hiked, biked, swam, and water skied. We can’t say enough great things about this luxurious home and property. We will certainly be back.

Perfect Vacation!

This is not just a house… this is an escape! Perfectly appointed at every corner, you can literally feel and appreciate the love and care that went into building and furnishing this lodge. We rented Horseleg Hill for our family’s summer vacation and took advantage of everything the area had to offer. From activities at the nearby resort, to tubing 20 minutes away in North Conway, to zip lining further north…NH has so much to offer and coming home to this luxurious home was exactly what we had hoped for. The owner and caretaker were extremely helpful from showing us the property, to suggesting activities before our stay, being accessible (yet discreet) during our stay, as well as communicative following our stay. We can’t recommend this home enough, and we look forward to our next visit!

Great Stay for our Family!

Our family of 6 stayed in this beautiful house last week. It poured rain one day but no one seemed to mind as the house was such a pleasant place to spend time. On nicer days, we had a campfire outside, and saw shooting stars. We took advantage of the resort’s complimentary water-skiing, which was great. We also took some really nice hikes/runs on the many trails surrounding the house. The house was so great that we were tempted not to leave, but did manage to have some great excursions to Diana’s Baths, and Cranmore — and delicious meals in North Conway. Just a great vacation all around, and Paul was so helpful and responsive. We’d definitely like to come back!

Hidden Gem of a House and Location!

Some family and friends joined me at Horseleg Hill Lodge for a late-summer extended weekend trip, and we were all blown away! The house itself is absolutely magnificent; aside from its stunning design features (both inside and out), around every corner there is something new to discover, and ample evidence of the Morra family’s incredibly thoughtful plan for a dream vacation home. The house was clearly designed for fun and entertainment for all interests, and it certainly lived up to its billing for our group! We cooked (in the state-of-the-art and fully equipped) kitchen, played horseshoes, watched movies, drank wine and made s’mores around both campfires, napped in the hammock, played paddle ball in the backyard, played board games and danced in the fantastic open space of the “great” room (taking advantage of the incredible sound system), watched movies on the big screen, played air hockey, slept like babies in arguably the world’s most comfortable beds and simply marveled at the architecture and design of this masterpiece-of-a-house.

The fun only just begins with the house – the surrounding area (Purity Spring Resort, Purity Lake, etc.) is an active outdoor enthusiast’s dream! We took full advantage of the many activities Purity Spring Resort offered – we water-skied, hiked and biked the nearby trail system, jogged the peaceful (yet challenging roads/trails), canoed, kayaked, swam, climbed the giant “iceberg” near the beach, sailed (despite the less-than-ideal wind conditions!), stand-up paddle boarded, relaxed on the beach, played tennis, and saw some serious wildlife in all its glory (massive turtles, birds, deer, etc.). As a New Hampshire native and outdoorsman, I was pleasantly surprised to discover this hidden gem of a resort/town/lake that I previously had no idea existed!

Paul and the Morra family deserve high praise for anticipating everything a guest could possibly want/need during their stay at Horseleg Hill Lodge. There simply aren’t enough hours in the day to take full advantage of everything Horseleg Hill Lodge offers its guests. There are activities/sights/sounds/smells for each and every taste imaginable, which are sure to satisfy a large variety of interests.

I highly recommend Horseleg Hill Lodge to those looking for a special escape to a magical place in the woods of New Hampshire!

Fantastic Rental

Horseleg Hill Lodge is as nice a house rental as any that we have ever seen. We were having a family reunion – two sisters, with their husbands and the adult children. It was the perfect venue to relax, enjoy each other’s company, eat way too much food, and together enjoy the natural beauty that the lakes and the mountains in this part of NH offer. From the sound system (inside and outside), to the lovely kitchen, the beautiful unique architecture and setting, the spectacular yard, the hammock… it was fantastic. The quality of everything is exceptional. Best of all, it is a warm setting that creates fantastic family time. We will be back, assuming there is availability, which could be tough once people discover this gem. Thank you to Paul and Danielle for making this fabulous property available.

New Hampshire Retreat

We decided to take our family of eight adults and a baby away for a week in rustic New Hampshire. We stumbled upon this property and it’s gracious owner Paul. We had many questions and the owner, Paul was polite, responsive and constantly helpful. We booked and never had any reason to look back. Even before our arrival, Paul was helping us with suggested activities, and the best local restaurants and sites. When we finally arrived at the house, it was as pretty and perfect as presented on the website. The house is thoughtfully laid out, decorated beautifully and stocked with most everything a guest could ask for. It has quite a few unusual amenities (like an AMAZING movie room) but the house is very comfortable and beautifully positioned in the surrounding woods. We had only one minor problem with movie room set up and Paul was instantly available to talk us through the problem. He had us up and running in less than 5 minutes. Of course, not much needs to be said about the area. NH is magnificent and we found ourselves occupied by tons of activities including biking, hiking, boating, fruit picking and day tripping to nearby cities. Coming back to the house was always a treat and, by the end of our family vacation, we couldn’t have been happier. A vacation to remember.

Amazing house and perfect photo shoot backdrop!

My company used the lodge for three nights for a photo shoot for our Fall catalog and overall it was such a great experience!! The process of renting it and coordinating with the owner Paul was seamless and so easy. The lodge was a picture perfect backdrop for our products we were shooting (footwear). I felt like i was staying in a 5 star resort in the mountains, but even better! Our crew loved everything about the lodge and location including the Purity Springs Resort down the road. I would recommend it for everyone to experience, anyone wanting to do a photo shoot of any kind especially. Will definitely return one day!

Beautiful in every way

A weekend away from reality with special friends was made even more special when we stayed at Horseleg Hill Lodge. It is so much like home and does not feel like just a place to stay. It is warm and welcoming at every turn. The rustic decor fits perfectly into the woods in which it’s nestled. The kitchen functioned just like mine at home, as the center of our world. Everyone felt comfortable hanging out in the large open area that encompasses the kitchen, living room and dining room. Had it not been for the awesome company we were visiting with, I could have stayed in our bed the entire weekend – SUPER COMFY! We had a blast and would do it again in a heartbeat. Though we loved the skiing at King Pine Ski Area, I would love to use more of the grounds and amenities in the summer time. The offerings were extensive. This home is a real treasure in the woods of New Hampshire – I’d give it 6 stars if I could.

Luxury, Comfort and Outdoors…the Perfect Vacation Home!

My husband and I just spent a relaxing, recharging, wonderful weekend at Horseleg Hill Lodge, in East Madison, New Hampshire. To say this home is magnificent would be an understatement. The owners put so much detail into this house, making it such an amazing retreat, we never wanted to leave (and we definitely wanted them to redecorate our own home!). It starts with the entrance into a home full of wood beams, reclaimed walls, and perfect lighting fixtures. Each room is comfortable and cozy – every guest will be happy no matter which room they get. But the great room is where the magic happens! We woke up Saturday morning to a kitchen full of people, yet never felt crowded. We watched from the fireplace as resort guests cross-country skied past our little hide-away. Later we joined them, as the path to the trails starts right at the front of the house. This rental enjoys Purity Spring Resort amenities, but never did I imagine that it would include a mountain’s snow groomer coming right to the house to groom the trail connector!! Later, I showered with river rock stones at my feet, making me feel like I was still outdoors. We hosted a small gathering for dinner. We were all in the great room, with a fire going in the magnificent centerpiece fireplace, the incredible sound system playing perfect mood music, and impeccable photos of James Taylor and Neil Young “joining us”. Afterwards, we all retired to the couches and the throws were so soft and comfortable, we had trouble staying awake. So some of us went downstairs and had a rousing game of air hockey, while others went into the home theater to watch Avatar. Others still stayed upstairs and played a cutthroat game of Jenga. This house had something for everyone!! I never thought I could stay in a house that had so much luxury, and yet felt so cozy and homey. I look forward to many memories to come at Horseleg Hill, as I plan to stay there many times! I wonder how great it will be in the summer with access to a private lake and beach…

Fabulous House and Host

What a winter retreat! Paul and his simply exquisite mountain home afforded our family a ski trip getaway we won’t soon forget. The house is beautiful and well kept. It’s appointed with and surrounded by a ton of fun family stuff including an in-home cinema, alpine and nordic skiing across the street, swimming, ice skating, snow tubing and much, much more. We had a fantastic time, and our whole family is looking forward to returning.

The perfect winter getaway for the entire family

We just returned from the most wonderful vacation in Madison, NH. We had the pleasure of staying at this stunner of a home at Horseleg Hill Lodge that is so special it’s hard to even explain! It is an utterly gorgeous property with a perfectly rustic and cozy décor from top to bottom and a state-of-the-art electronic system for your entertaining pleasure. This house is to die for. It’s literally the most special and well-designed rental I have ever stayed in that I’m shocked it’s actually a rental and not someone’s permanent residence. Every detail…the furniture, artwork, appliances, linens, lighting…everything is just so beautiful. At its core is an open plan great room/kitchen/dining room that is centered by a magnificent fireplace – the perfect gathering place for the entire family. Go down into the equally cozy basement and enjoy a movie in the screening room with picture and sound of an actual movie theater but in the comfort of the home! After a day of skiing, enjoy a nice hot rain shower or bath in the master bath that is sure to warm you up by its sheer beauty. And put the kids to bed in the kids bunk room that comes with a super fun “hidden play cubby” masked by a “doghouse door” which is so cute and fun for the little ones. The home is part of the King Pine resort that is full of winter activities as well as a heated pool and hot tub very close to the property. Over a long weekend we did 3 days of amazing skiing at the King Pine resort, we went snow tubing, sleigh riding and snow shoeing right on the Horseleg property. The entire resort is run by a welcoming and accommodating staff that will meet your every need. And at the core of the Horseleg Hill Property are the homeowners who were extremely attentive to our needs and comforts throughout our stay. I am gushing because this home and resort is a phenomenal place to spend your next vacation. I hear summer is equally amazing and look forward to returning. We loved every single thing about our trip and highly recommend this destination.

An amazing retreat

We were lucky enough to spend 4 nights in the fabulous Horseleg Hill Lodge celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. Paul, the owner was great to deal with and Steven, the property manager was extremely responsive. With horseleg hill lodge we had the best of both worlds. The space and privacy of a house and also the facilities of a resort. We were able to use the swimming pool and hot tub at purity springs resort and also received free snow tubing passes for King Pine. The house itself is every bit as beautiful as the pictures here. The beds were extremely comfortable. My daughters (6 and 9) especially loved the little nook in the bunk room. And of course they also loved the media room. We loved our time here.

Five star accommodations

Great house…. great location…. great owner! If you are looking for a five star vacation in a great area of New Hampshire, this is your spot. The house allows even a sizeable family plenty of space and the finishes are top notch. King Pine is a 2 minute drive down the street and the hiking, snow shoeing, and x-country skiing trails are literally in your backyard. Without a doubt, we’ll be returning to the Horseleg Hill Lodge. It is everything we were looking for and more!

Dream Cabin in the Woods!!

My sisters and I stayed here for the weekend with our families and we could not have more impressed with the Rental, the property, the owner and the Resort! I have been coming to the Valley for over 25 years and this house is unlike anything you will find in the area. It is simply beautiful and was so welcoming for a family weekend. What a value for being able to use all the amenities at Purity Spring Resort, and a bonus that you are so close to the mountain. We even went snowshoeing right from the house with rentals from the resort! It was great! Any questions we had were quickly answered by the caretaker who is right at the resort. It was great to come off the mountain, relax in the Greatroom and watch movies in the Theater downstairs. It felt like a deluxe vacation. All 10 of us slept comfortably in our own beds and there were plenty of extra towels for everyone. We were sad to have to leave but are making plans for our next trip to stay ay Horseleg Hill Lodge again!

Absolutely Perfect

Horseleg Hill is absolutely perfect. Every detail is thought through. It is amazingly comfortable and beautifully designed. And the setting is pristine and unspoiled. I can’t wait to go back!

Worth every penny!

Horseleg Hill Lodge is in quite the exceptional location — easy access to every activity/amenity that the very nearby resort offers (waterskiing, canoeing, snowboarding, skiing, sledding, restaurant/bar (with good food and drink), climbing wall, nature/hiking trails, “beach,” swimming pool, spa, sauna, massage, fun & organized kids/family activities, a sundry store, etc). You can do all these great activities PLUS you get to be at this beautifully stunning house with complete privacy and tons of space. And everything imaginable is provided — seriously, everything.

Yes, it is such a beautiful area with so much to do… but it is also really nice to just hang out at the house and do nothing at all! On those do-nothing days, our kids were more than happy to play on the property and then they slept like logs in those cool creative bunks.

The house/property itself is so gorgeous. It has a modern creative architectural design, with high-end details and furnishings. It was impeccably clean, super cozy, and had plenty of room for everyone. You can tell that great care and thought went into this home and that it isn’t just “a rental.” I highly recommend Horseleg Hill Lodge – worth every penny. We will definitely be coming back again.
